Some people think they are always right. They say that the violence in México has raised, that they won't get rid of the cartels, get rid of the violence, but the government is working really hard to accomplish this hard tasks.
In Mexico the deaths have been great. About 9,903 deaths since 2007. About 2,000 of this deaths has been executions of the cartels killing traitors and law enforcement officers. This numbers are great and this means that this is a war. The government has been fighting against the cartels and hitting them with everything they got.
Calderon has sent about 45,000 troops and 5,000 federal police in 18 states. This is a great number of troops sent to fight the terror. This isn't just to get rid of the cartels, it's also to get rid of the corrupt police officers and law enforcement judges.
With the gun trafficking from the U.S. to the south the things get more violent and bloodier than ever. The Mexican Government seams its winning but on the way a lot of innocent lives are being lost. People that get caught on cross fire get killed or seriously wounded.
Some people say it's not working but I say it is. The people say the violence it's higher than ever, but I think "it has to get worse before it gets better"
